Try Organic Food...or as your Grandparents called it FOOD."
IntroductionRemember how the old saying goes, “Once we know better, we do better"? Well, perhaps next time that someone suggests for you to, "buy organic", hopefully, your reaction would be one of compromising awareness. Yeah, we know all of the excuses by now as to why we won’t purchase natural foods—it’s expensive, hard to find, or possibly out of reach from the tools to educate ourselves. But what we are truly talking about is biological integrity: the practice of fueling our body’s internal ecosystem with clean, unadulterated nutrients. By prioritizing whole foods, we protect our cells and systems from the chemical interference of modern, processed "non-foods," allowing our body to maintain its natural, intended state of health. While it is true that modern industrial agriculture has left much of our soil depleted and conventional crops heavily treated with synthetic pesticides, allowing this reality to cause dietary paralysis is a disservice to our health. We must understand that USDA certified organic standards explicitly prohibit the use of these persistent toxic chemicals and harsh fertilizers, creating a regulated pathway back to pure nutrition. Furthermore, shifting our perspective toward regenerative agriculture and local sourcing connects us with growers who are actively rebuilding the earth's soil microbiome. Even when facing a compromised environment, the fiber, vitamins, and antioxidants found in whole foods provide the exact biochemical tools our liver and kidneys require to naturally detoxify. Choosing to avoid fresh produce out of fear ironically strips the body of its defenses; prioritizing clean, unadulterated food is the ultimate way to support our system's innate resilience and maintain biological integrity. We comprehensively sourced information for our readers, not to subject them to fear tactics, but just the opposite of that, which is to consider this as essential information for our sustainability in general health. What are Natural, Organic Foods?USDA Organic foods do not consist of added trans-fats, artificial colors, dyes, artificial flavoring, artificial growth hormones and antibiotics, vegetable oils, chemical fertilizers, chemical food additives, genetically modified organisms, high-fructose corn syrup, preservatives like sodium nitrate and sodium nitrites, or toxic persistent pesticides. The difference between organic and conventional produce is the number of pesticides that are used to defend against insects while the plant is in the growing stage. While packaged foods are popular today, Dr. Llaila O. Afrika states that a “contemporary junk food and fast food diet is based upon denatured, highly refined, processed, genetically altered and synthetically chemicalized, non-foods”—ultimately yielding zero true nutritional value for the biological body.
PesticidesSystemic pesticides are chemicals that are actually absorbed by a plant when applied to seeds, soil, or leaves. The chemicals then circulate through the plant's tissues, killing the insects that feed on them. Many of these pesticides are dangerous to human health. While chemical pesticides became heavily integrated into American industrial agriculture during the mid-20th century, the landscape shifted even further in 1994 with the introduction of genetically modified foods, such as the "Flavr Savr" tomato. Over a period of time, chronic exposure to these agricultural pesticides can contaminate the body with toxins, free radicals, and waste products. This toxic load continuously stresses the filtering systems of the body and drastically reduces the body’s innate ability to fight dis-eases.
Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs)Not only are pesticides an issue, but a great concern for genetically modified organisms (GMOs) exists as well. For years in the United States and Canada, industrial food producers were not required to label genetically modified foods. Even with newer labeling laws requiring terms like "Bioengineered," the messaging remains intentionally confusing to the general public. This lack of transparent labeling leaves consumers with the dangerous assumption that the foods on store shelves are inherently safe to eat—operating under the belief that if there were a true risk, we would be explicitly warned somehow, right?
The commercial fast foods that aren’t naturally processed are genetically altered and highly toxic. There are no commercial foods safe to eat. These toxins and synthetic chemicals destroy and deteriorate the human body and are highly addicting. Foods can be our medicine, but not unless they are natural foods. You can change your food choices, but you can only change it for the better by creating new habits and teaching yourself to use natural foods. If you had an organic pomegranate in one hand and a processed pickle in the other to eat, you have to decide which one is best: natural or processed? You know your body needs good food.
